Thoms Farms is located on the northeast tip of the thumb of Michigan, approximately two miles south of the village of Port Hope on Port Hope Road.  “The small town with the big welcome” is located in Huron County within Rubicon Township, 71 miles Northeast of Saginaw, Michigan and 112 miles North of Detroit, Michigan.  A drive from the Metropolitan Detroit area is just a short drive north on I-94 to M-25 taking approximately two to three hours.  The farm is also a short delivery route to other areas in the Great Lakes region, including: Toronto, Chicago, Indianapolis, and Cleveland to name a few.

Do to the proximity to Lake Huron, the temperature and climate is moderated keeping the area in a USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 6.  Rainfall is also usually plentiful leaving a moist soil for great growing conditions.  Our soil ranges from heavy clay to a clay-loam, making a great product for the harsh urban landscape soil that we experience in most Midwest areas.

Thoms Farms is located on a 120-acre farm located at the southwest corner of Port Hope Road and Dobson Road.  Currently, 30 acres are in production with the remaining amount to be used as the nursery matures.  Another 60-acre plot is located just east on Dobson Road.

Guided tours and hand tagged orders are welcomed, but please call ahead for an appointment
